Helwit
The Småland flavour brand
Helwit launched in 2021 from YOIK AB, a Swedish independent producer based in Gransholmsbruk in southern Småland. The founders started outside the tobacco industry and built the brand around a single editorial decision: lead with flavour rather than nicotine load. Where most pouch brands open with mint and step strength up tier by tier, Helwit set the strength ceiling first (mild to regular, around 4 to 9 mg per pouch) and then built the widest non-mint flavour range in the slim category.
The Helwit catalogue we stock
Helwit covers more flavour territory than almost any other slim-format brand:
Mint: Helwit Mint Slim and Helwit Menthol cover the cooling end at mild strength.
Berry: Helwit Blueberry Slim and Blueberry Extra Strong cover blueberry across two strengths. Helwit Acai, Strawberry, and Raspberry Liquorice round out the berry shelf.
Fruit: Helwit Cherry, Banana, Banana Extra Strong, Watermelon, and Orange (which sits between citrus and fruit despite the slim label).
Cola: Helwit Cola and Helwit Cola Extra Strong are some of the cleanest cola pouches in the European catalogue, neither too sweet nor too artificial.
Coffee: Helwit Mocha and Mocha Extra Strong run the coffee-with-cocoa profile. Mocha Extra Strong is particularly direct, with the cocoa carrying as much weight as the coffee.
Liquorice: Helwit Salmiak Slim Extra Strong is the most direct salty liquorice in our liquorice catalogue, leaning hard into the salmiak side rather than the sweet side.
Floral: Helwit Violet is a floral pouch with a violet top note, unusual outside the Scandinavian liquorice tradition.
Strength and feel
Helwit sits in the mild to regular range across the catalogue, around 4 mg in standard variants and around 7.5 to 9 mg in the Extra Strong line. That ceiling is deliberate: heavy mg loadings tend to overwhelm the more interesting flavours (Mocha, Violet, Salmiak), and Helwit's catalogue is built around those flavours rather than around a nicotine-first proposition. The pouches are slim, with 20 per can, and use a moisture profile calibrated for flavour release rather than fastest-possible nicotine pickup.

Production and packaging
Production runs at Gransholmsbruk in Småland, on hydropower from the local plant. The cans are made from a pine-derived material rather than petroleum plastics, ISCC-certified, with a stated 85% reduction in CO₂ emissions versus standard polypropylene packaging. The internal sweetener load is capped at around 3.8% to keep flavour primary without sugar dominance.

Frequently asked
Which Helwit should I start with?
For a first Helwit, Mint Slim or Menthol Slim at around 4 mg are the gentlest entries. If you want to test the brand's flavour ambition rather than a standard mint, Helwit Mocha at around 4 mg or Helwit Cola at the same tier are the cleanest non-mint entry points: distinctive profiles at a comfortable strength.
How strong is Helwit?
Helwit's standard line sits at around 4 mg per pouch, and the Extra Strong variants reach about 7.5 to 9 mg. The brand doesn't make pouches above the regular strength tier. If you want extra strong (15 mg+), you'll need to look at Cuba, Pablo, Iceberg, or White Fox.
What's the most distinctive Helwit flavour?
Helwit Salmiak Slim Extra Strong (salty Scandinavian liquorice), Helwit Violet (floral), and Helwit Mocha Extra Strong (coffee with cocoa) are the three most-asked-for flavours that don't exist in this form elsewhere in our catalogue. Each of them takes a real flavour reference and puts it into a pouch without softening it for a wider audience.
Is Helwit pouch material plastic?
The cans are made from a pine-resin-derived material rather than standard petroleum plastic, with ISCC certification. Helwit lists the construction as reducing CO₂ emissions by around 85% compared to a standard plastic pouch can. The pouch material itself is plant fibre, similar to most tobacco-free pouches in the category.
Is Helwit the same as snus?
No. Traditional Swedish snus contains tobacco; Helwit does not. Helwit is a tobacco-free nicotine pouch, sometimes called "tabakfreier Snus" in everyday German usage. The format and feel sit close to snus; the regulatory category and ingredients are different.
