Does PouchSpot use AI? Very little.

PouchSpot is run by people who have used nicotine pouches for years. We choose what to stock, try it ourselves, check the strength on the can and answer our own email. AI can't taste a pouch, feel the burn or notice that a can arrived dry. People can, so people do that work.

We do use AI for a few routine jobs behind the scenes, and we think you should know exactly which ones. This page explains who does what at PouchSpot, why the human part matters, and the short list of things AI helps with.

Who does what at PouchSpot

Almost everything that shapes what you buy is done by a person. Here is the full picture.

People vs AI at PouchSpot
Task Who does it
Choosing which pouches we stock People
Trying products before they go on sale People
Tasting notes and recommendations People who have used the pouch
Nicotine strength (mg per pouch) From the maker or the can, signed off by a person
Answering your emails A person, every time
The note in your parcel Handwritten by a person, then printed
Product photos Real cans, no AI
Customer reviews Real customers, via Trustpilot
First drafts of some product texts and articles AI can help. A person edits and checks.
Translations AI helps. A person checks the facts.
Spotting errors in our product data AI helps. A person fixes them.

Eight of these eleven jobs are done only by people. In the other three, AI is a helper and a person has the final say.

Why the human touch matters

Nicotine pouches are personal. Two pouches with the same mg per pouch can feel completely different. One burns, the other doesn't. One flavour lasts the whole session, another fades in ten minutes. Some pouches sit flat and comfortable, others feel bulky under the lip. None of that is on a spec sheet, and none of it can come from a tool that has never had a pouch under its lip.

That's why the important calls at PouchSpot are made by people who use pouches. When we say a pouch is worth trying, it's because someone tried it. When we say a pouch is strong, it's because the number on the can says so and someone checked it. When you write to us, you get a reply from someone who knows the products, not a generated answer.

We carry what we'd recommend to a friend. A tool can't make that call for us.

It's also why we keep the shop small enough to stay personal. Read more about how we choose our range on our About page.

The little we use AI for

AI is a small tool in the back office, never the person behind the counter. We use it for a handful of routine jobs:

  • First drafts. AI sometimes helps with a first draft of a product description or article. A person edits every draft, checks the facts against the maker and the can, and decides what goes live.
  • Translation. We write in English first, and AI helps translate into German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish and other languages. We check strength, price and shipping details in each language.
  • Catching mistakes. With hundreds of products, AI helps us spot numbers that don't add up, such as a strength that doesn't match the rest of our product data. A person checks and fixes each one.
  • Search data. AI helps us sort through which questions people ask about pouches, so we know which guides to write next.
  • Some illustrations for marketing. Never product photos.

That's the whole list. AI never decides what we sell, what we recommend or what we tell you about strength, and nothing it helps with goes live without a person checking it first.

What we never use AI for

  • Reviews and quotes. We never use AI to invent reviews, ratings, customer quotes or experiences. The reviews you see on Trustpilot are written by customers.
  • Nicotine strength. We never let AI fill in or guess a strength. If we don't have a confirmed number, we say so. We also never read strength from a product's name, because some brands put mg per gram in the name and others put mg per pouch. See how we standardise every brand in our Nicotine Pouch Strength Index.
  • Product photos. We never use AI to create product photos or change what a can looks like. The can in the picture is the can you get.
  • Health advice. We never use AI to write health or medical advice. Anything we say about nicotine and health is checked by a person, and none of it is medical advice.
  • Choosing for you. AI never decides what we stock or what we recommend.
  • Pretending to be human. If a bot ever answers you on our behalf, it will say it's a bot.

Where you might meet AI

Right now, nothing on pouchspot.com is an AI talking to you. There is no AI chat assistant on the site. If we ever add one, we will label it clearly and list it on this page.

We don't block AI search tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI answers from reading our pages. We'd rather they quote our real prices and strengths than guess. The answers those tools give are written by them, not by us, so if one of them gets something wrong about PouchSpot, please tell us.

Some content on our site comes from other companies: customer reviews collected by Trustpilot, product information and packaging from the brands we stock, and the services that handle payment and delivery. Those companies decide their own AI practices.

Found a mistake? Tell a person

Makers change strengths, rename flavours and redesign cans, sometimes without much notice. If something on our site doesn't match the can in your hand, email us. A person will read it, usually within 24 hours, and fix it.

Frequently asked questions

Does PouchSpot use AI?

Very little. People choose, try and check everything we sell, and a person answers every email. AI only helps with a few routine jobs, like first drafts, translation and catching data errors, and a person checks everything before it goes live.

Are PouchSpot's reviews real?

Yes. Our customer reviews are collected by Trustpilot and written by real customers. We never use AI to write or invent reviews.

Where do PouchSpot's nicotine strengths come from?

From the maker or the can itself, signed off by a person and labelled with its unit, mg per pouch or mg per gram. We never guess a strength or read it from a product name.

Is there an AI chatbot on PouchSpot?

No. When you contact us, a person answers. If we ever add an AI assistant, it will be clearly labelled and listed on this page.

Who writes PouchSpot's product descriptions?

People at PouchSpot. AI sometimes helps with a first draft, but a person edits it, checks the facts and decides what goes live.
